Regina Passalacqua earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina, and she is currently completing the last requirements for a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Divine Mercy University. She has worked for a year as a behavioral therapist with children with autism. She has also worked for an addiction treatment and mental health care company, where she eventually took on the position of Case Manager. She is certified through the Green Cross as a Compassion Fatigue Educator, Compassion Fatigue Therapist, and a Field Traumatologist who responds to disasters.
Regina enjoys working with pre-teens and with young adults, helping the latter group navigate areas such as romantic and social lives, and finding a career that is a good fit. She enjoys teaching many coping strategies to help decrease anxiety such as mindfulness, breathing techniques and guided imagery. She is also very passionate about helping couples prepare for marriage, using the Gottman model, and using Emotionally Focused Therapy with couples to help increase positive interactions and connection.
Regina enjoys exercising every day, whether that is walking, jogging, bike riding or dancing. She taught dance to little girls for three years and was an active member of a salsa dancing group in Baltimore for two years. Regina also sings at church a couple times a month and was in a church choir in college.
Regina is very excited to work with the Bay Area Christian Counseling team! She is supervised by Tracy Meyer, LCPC, NCC.
