Krissel is a Los Angeles, California native who moved to Virginia for two years to work for a non-profit organization geared to help families who have children with intellectual disabilities. She then moved to Southern Maryland for seven years where she earned her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University Online in 2022.

Krissel has had experience counseling children, adolescents, teens, and adults as Bay Area Christian Counseling’s first intern in 2021 and afterwards has worked as a Community Schools Therapist in Prince George’s County Schools. She has helped clients with depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions/adjustments, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, OCD, academic challenges, school related concerns/issues, adoption issues, foster care, crisis/suicide/self-harm, domestic violence, self-esteem, abuse, grief/loss, LGBTQ+ issues, and familial/relational distresses. Krissel has worked for an agency that follows a Trauma-Informed Care Approach and is interested in becoming certified in EMDR and TF-CBT.

Her personal golden rule of counseling is to embrace and accept every individual that she encounters and provide a safe and trusting relationship within the counseling room. She is highly motivated to meet any individual where they are and empower their very being. Honoring God through her work is her greatest desire and she is committed to a life of spiritual and psychological growth.
