Shelby Hembrough, Clinical Counseling Intern

Shelby is a Clinical Counseling Intern studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of Delaware in 2013. Since then, Shelby has been busy working as a veterinary technician on the eastern shore and being a single mom to her six-year-old daughter.

Shelby discovered her passion for counseling and has spent the past few years working to become a counselor. She uses an eclectic approach to counseling but tends to favor Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy. She believes in the power of a strong therapeutic connection and looks forward to seeing clients at Bay Area Christian Counseling.

Originally from Pasadena, Shelby has lived in Queen Anne’s County for 15 years. She enjoys spending time with her daughter, pets, and friends in her spare time.
